Abstract

This study aims to examine the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in the creation of visual teaching materials to increase children’s interest in learning at Raudhatul Athfal (RA). The problem underlying this study is the low level of interest in learning among children due to the lack of variety in conventional teaching materials. The study employed a descriptive qualitative approach using the Participatory Action Research (PAR) method. Data collection was conducted through participatory observation, in-depth interviews with teachers, and documentation of learning activities. The results of the study indicate that prior to the implementation of AI-based media, children’s learning interest was low in terms of attention, engagement, and enthusiasm. After teachers were facilitated in creating visual teaching materials using a generative AI platform, there was a significant increase in all three indicators of learning interest. Children demonstrated more focused attention, more active participation, and higher enthusiasm during the learning process. These findings indicate that the integration of AI as a tool to assist teachers in developing visual teaching media is a feasible, effective, and relevant innovation for implementation in early childhood education settings.
