THE DYNAMICS OF ISLAMIC BOARDING SCHOOL EDUCATION SYSTEM IN RESPONDING TO MODERN CHALLENGES: A CASE STUDY OF HM AL-MAHRUSIYAH PESANTREN

This study aims to analyze the dynamics of the Islamic education system at HM Al-Mahrusiyah Pesantren in responding to the challenges of modern times and technological advancement. This research employs a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation involving the pesantren leader, teachers, and students. The results indicate that HM Al-Mahrusiyah Pesantren has implemented various adaptive strategies in its education system through the integration of traditional and modern curricula, the utilization of technology as a learning medium, and the modernization of educational management without abandoning Islamic values. These findings suggest that pesantren modernization can be carried out in harmony with the strengthening of religious character. The implications of this study emphasize the importance of developing a pesantren education system that is adaptive to societal changes while remaining grounded in Islamic educational values.
