SAMAWA: Journal of Islamic Family Law is a peer-reviewed scholarly journal published by the Faculty of Sharia, Institut Agama Islam Darul Falah Bondowoso, East Java, Indonesia. The journal serves as an academic platform for exploring and disseminating scholarly ideas, research findings, and critical discussions among researchers, academics, and practitioners in the field of Islamic family law and related disciplines. The journal's scope includes, but is not limited to, the following areas: (1) Islamic Family Law; (2) Marriage Law; (3) Inheritance Law; (4) Islamic Civil Law.

With a broad and multidisciplinary approach, the journal brings together diverse academic perspectives to examine these fields of study. It publishes original research articles and scholarly reviews covering normative, juridical, historical, sociological, anthropological, and comparative studies related to Islamic family law, marriage law, inheritance law, gender and family studies, as well as Islamic civil law. The journal aims to become one of the leading platforms for the dissemination of innovative research findings and academic discussions in these areas. Scholars, researchers, and practitioners from various countries are cordially invited to submit their manuscripts to SAMAWA and benefit from its open-access publishing model. Novelty, originality, and the timeliness of issues are among the primary considerations in the publication process.

SAMAWA was first established in 2021 and has since been published in both print and electronic formats through an open-access publishing system managed using the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform. Beginning with Volume 2, Number 1 (2024), SAMAWA was accredited at SINTA 5 level by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia.

SAMAWA has been a Crossref member since 2021. Consequently, every article published in the journal is assigned a unique Digital Object Identifier (DOI). The journal is published biannually in January and July.
