The Editorial Team of SAMAWA: Jurnal Hukum Keluarga Islam recognizes that plagiarism is unacceptable. Therefore, the journal establishes the following policy outlining specific actions and sanctions to be imposed when plagiarism is identified in a manuscript submitted for publication in SAMAWA: Jurnal Hukum Keluarga Islam.

Definition

Plagiarism is the intentional or unintentional act of obtaining or attempting to obtain credit or recognition for a scholarly work by quoting or using part or all of another person’s work and/or scholarly work and presenting it as one’s own without properly and adequately acknowledging the original source.

Therefore, the following provisions apply:

Submitted articles must be original, must not have been previously published, and must not be under consideration for publication elsewhere. Any material quoted verbatim from another source must be clearly identified and distinguished from the author’s original text.

If plagiarism is identified, the Editor-in-Chief is responsible for reviewing the manuscript and determining the appropriate action based on the level of plagiarism detected, according to the following guidelines:

Levels of Plagiarism

1. Plagiarism involving a small number of short sentences from another article without proper source acknowledgment.
Action: The author will be given a warning and requested to revise the text and provide proper citation.

2. Plagiarism involving a substantial portion of another article without proper quotation and source acknowledgment.
Action: The submitted manuscript will be rejected for publication in SAMAWA: Jurnal Hukum Keluarga Islam, and the author may be prohibited from submitting or publishing articles in the journal.

All authors are responsible for the content of the manuscript they submit, as they are required to sign the Publication Ethics Statement/Letter of Originality of SAMAWA: Jurnal Hukum Keluarga Islam. If a manuscript is found to contain plagiarism, all authors will be subject to the same action or sanction.

If an author is proven to have submitted a manuscript to SAMAWA: Jurnal Hukum Keluarga Islam while simultaneously submitting the same manuscript to another journal, and this duplicate submission is identified during the review process or after publication, the action specified under Point 2 above will apply.

If any act of plagiarism is identified that is not specifically covered by the provisions above, the Editorial Team of SAMAWA: Jurnal Hukum Keluarga Islam reserves the right to impose appropriate sanctions in accordance with the journal’s editorial policies.
