Article Retraction and Withdrawal

The Editor-in-Chief of Al-Mudir: Jurnal Manajemen Bisnis Syariah is responsible for making the final decision regarding the acceptance and publication of submitted manuscripts. These decisions are made in accordance with the journal’s editorial policies, publication ethics, peer-review procedures, and applicable legal requirements, including those concerning defamation, copyright infringement, and plagiarism.

The journal is committed to maintaining the integrity, accuracy, and transparency of the scholarly record. Published articles constitute a permanent record of academic communication and should remain accessible, accurate, and unaltered whenever possible. However, in exceptional circumstances, an article may need to be retracted, withdrawn, removed, or replaced to address significant errors, ethical violations, or legal concerns.

All decisions concerning retraction, withdrawal, removal, or replacement shall be made following careful editorial assessment and in accordance with established publication ethics standards. The editorial team will maintain appropriate records of published articles and any subsequent editorial actions to ensure transparency and preserve the integrity of the scholarly archive.

Article Retraction

Article retraction may be considered when a published article is found to contain serious errors or violations of publication ethics that undermine the reliability or integrity of its findings. Grounds for retraction may include, but are not limited to:

  • Plagiarism or substantial unattributed use of other people's work.
  • Duplicate publication or redundant publication that violates the journal's publication policies.
  • False or misleading claims of authorship or other authorship-related misconduct.
  • Fabrication, falsification, or fraudulent manipulation of research data.
  • Serious methodological or analytical errors that invalidate the article's conclusions.
  • Undisclosed conflicts of interest or other ethical violations that materially affect the credibility of the research.
  • Other forms of research or publication misconduct that compromise the integrity of the scholarly record.

Before a retraction decision is finalized, the editorial team will examine the available evidence and, where appropriate, provide the authors with an opportunity to respond. Authors may be requested to submit a written explanation or formal statement concerning the matter. However, the editorial decision to retract an article will be based on the evidence and applicable publication ethics standards and will not depend solely on the authors' consent.

Once a retraction is approved, Al-Mudir: Jurnal Manajemen Bisnis Syariah will publish a formal retraction notice that is clearly linked to the original article. The notice will identify the article, explain the reason for retraction, and indicate whether the retraction was initiated by the authors, the editor, the journal, or another relevant party.

The original article will normally remain accessible in the journal's online archive and, where applicable, in its printed version. It will be clearly marked as “Retracted” to prevent readers from mistaking it for a valid, unretracted publication. The retraction notice will also be included in the journal's publication records and relevant article listings.

Article Withdrawal

Article withdrawal is strongly discouraged and is generally permitted only under exceptional circumstances before an accepted manuscript has been officially published.

A manuscript may be considered for withdrawal if:

  • It contains serious errors that cannot reasonably be corrected before publication.
  • It has been submitted to or published in another journal in violation of publication policies.
  • It involves plagiarism, data fabrication or falsification, false authorship, or other serious ethical violations.
  • Its continued processing would create significant legal, ethical, or scholarly concerns.

Requests for withdrawal must be submitted in writing to the Editor-in-Chief, accompanied by a clear explanation of the reasons for the request. The editorial team will evaluate the request and determine the appropriate action in accordance with the journal's policies.

If withdrawal is approved, the manuscript will be withdrawn from the journal's publication workflow or online platform, as applicable. Where an online version or article files have already been made available, the journal will provide an appropriate withdrawal statement explaining that the manuscript has been withdrawn in accordance with the policies of Al-Mudir: Jurnal Manajemen Bisnis Syariah. The statement will include a link to this policy where appropriate.

Authors do not have an automatic or unilateral right to withdraw an article after it has been officially published. Once an article has entered the published scholarly record, any necessary action must follow the journal's retraction, removal, or correction procedures.

Article Removal

The complete removal of a published article from the journal's online archive is an exceptional measure and will only be considered in circumstances where continued public access to the article is legally prohibited or presents a serious and substantiated risk.

Reasons for removal may include:

  • The article contains clearly defamatory material.
  • The article infringes the legal rights of another individual or organization.
  • A valid court order or other binding legal requirement mandates removal.
  • The article's content poses a serious and demonstrable risk to public health or safety.
  • Other exceptional legal circumstances make continued public availability inappropriate.

Before removal, the editorial team will assess the circumstances and consult the relevant legal or institutional authorities where necessary.

When removal is deemed necessary, the article's full text may be removed from public access. However, its bibliographic metadata, including the title, authors, publication date, and other identifying information, will normally be retained to preserve the transparency and traceability of the scholarly record.

The removed article's online location will display a statement explaining that the article has been removed for legal, ethical, or safety reasons, as applicable. The statement will provide sufficient information about the action without disclosing confidential or legally restricted details.

Article Replacement

In exceptional circumstances, an author may request the replacement of a published article when its content contains a serious error that could mislead readers or create a significant risk to public health, safety, or the integrity of the scholarly record.

A replacement request must be submitted in writing to the Editor-in-Chief and must include:

  • A clear explanation of the problem in the original article.
  • A complete corrected version of the article.
  • A detailed description of the corrections made.
  • Supporting evidence or documentation where necessary.

The editorial team will assess the request to determine whether replacement is justified. The decision will consider the severity of the error, the reliability of the proposed correction, and the potential consequences for readers and the scholarly community.

If replacement is approved, the journal will follow an appropriate editorial procedure to ensure that the original version and the corrected version are properly documented. A replacement notice will be published and linked to the corrected article. The notice will explain the reason for replacement and provide a document history identifying the relevant revision dates.

The journal will maintain appropriate records of the original publication, the replacement notice, and the corrected version to ensure transparency and preserve the history of the scholarly record.

Editorial Responsibility and Policy Review

The editorial team of Al-Mudir: Jurnal Manajemen Bisnis Syariah is committed to handling all cases of retraction, withdrawal, removal, and replacement fairly, transparently, and consistently. Decisions will be based on documented evidence, the seriousness of the issue, applicable legal requirements, and recognized principles of publication ethics.

The journal will seek clarification from authors, reviewers, affiliated institutions, or other relevant parties when necessary. Confidentiality will be maintained throughout the investigation, subject to applicable legal and ethical obligations.

This policy will be reviewed periodically to ensure that it remains consistent with developments in scholarly publishing, research integrity, and internationally recognized publication ethics standards.
