The rise of illegal investment schemes and unlicensed online loans in Indonesia poses a significant threat to public financial security. Illegal investments often promise high returns in a short period without official authorization from the Otoritas Jasa Keuangan (OJK), while illegal online loans carry risks of exorbitant interest rates, unlawful collection practices, and substantial financial losses. Low financial literacy and limited awareness of legitimate financial services make the public particularly vulnerable.
This study aims to provide practical education on the dangers of illegal investments and unlicensed online loans. Methods include seminars, educational modules, simulations to identify illegal platforms, and guidelines for verifying legality through official OJK channels. The educational focus covers the common signs of illegal investments and loans, typical fraud mechanisms, and consumer protection strategies.
Results indicate that participants were able to recognize characteristics of illegal investment and loan schemes, increase their financial vigilance, and understand appropriate actions when encountering illegal practices. Continuous education is expected to reduce financial losses among the public and significantly enhance overall financial literacy.
