This research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, classroom observations, and documentation. The data were analyzed using data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, while data validity was ensured through source and method triangulation. The results indicate that the learning planning was systematically arranged through the preparation of lesson plans (RPP), which included learning objectives, mastery of materials, learning methods, instructional media, and evaluation instruments. The implementation of practice-based fiqh learning was carried out in three main stages: the opening stage (greeting and attendance checking), the core stage (material explanation followed by direct student practice), and the closing stage (reflection and prayer). Evaluation was conducted using written tests, oral assessments, and direct performance assessments. These findings imply that practice-based fiqh learning effectively enhances students’ conceptual and practical understanding and can be applied as an alternative instructional model for Islamic education teachers in madrasah settings.</em></p> <p><strong><em>Keywords</em></strong><em>: Practice-Based Fiqh Learning, Students’ Understanding, Islamic Education, Madrasah.</em></p> Muhammad Fiqih Alwafah Copyright (c) 2025 GURU: Journal of Islamic Education Studies 2025-11-30 2025-11-30 1 1 1 13 PERAN KELUARGA SEBAGAI BASIS PEMBENTUKAN KARAKTER ANAK: TELAAH PEMIKIRAN ABDURRAHMAN AN-NAHLAWI DAN KI HAJAR DEWANTARA https://ejournal.indafa.ac.id/index.php/guru/article/view/409 <p><em>Character education is a central issue in the modern era, where the family plays a fundamental role in forming akhlak al-karimah (noble character) as the primary goal of tarbiyah (Background). This study aims to examine the role of the family in children's character formation according to Abdurrahman An-Nahlawi and Ki Hajar Dewantara, and to find the point of convergence (synthesis) between Islamic and national education perspectives (Objective). The method used is qualitative (qualitative method) and library research with comparative analysis (comparative analysis) of the original works of both figures (Method). The main findings indicate that An-Nahlawi emphasizes the family as the main fortress with the roles of Religious Builder and Protector, while Dewantara places the family as the center of Budi Pekerti (moral character) through the roles of Guide/Teacher and Role Model (Ing Ngarsa Sung Tuladha). Both figures converge on Modeling (Keteladanan) as the core of success. In Conclusion, their thoughts are synergistic, where the Budi Pekerti framework can be filled with An-Nahlawi's spiritual substance. In an era of globalization and technological advancement, education faces various new challenges. This study examines contemporary issues in Islamic education and strategies to respond to them through library research using a descriptive qualitative approach. The findings show that Islamic education must adapt to modern developments without losing its essential values. Education not only shapes knowledge but also builds character and skills. This research employs a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation involving the pesantren leader, teachers, and students. The results indicate that HM Al-Mahrusiyah Pesantren has implemented various adaptive strategies in its education system through the integration of traditional and modern curricula, the utilization of technology as a learning medium, and the modernization of educational management without abandoning Islamic values. These findings suggest that pesantren modernization can be carried out in harmony with the strengthening of religious character.
